Hello, Jacksboro church family! Wow! What a long and winding journey it has been that has brought the Lewis family to Jacksboro. When Mandy and I started the process of looking for a congregation some six months ago, we had no idea the magnitude of blessings that would be waiting for us here. Anyone that has been through it knows that moving is hard. Depending on the family, friends, and familiar places that you are leaving behind, it can be extremely difficult. You, however, have made the entire process go as smoothly as possible. From the moment we arrived in town, you have welcomed us with open arms and have given both your time and your talents. We were in awe as we watched our entire moving truck being unloaded in about an hour, and that was just the beginning. Thank you to those who carried boxes, thank you to those who brought meals, thank you to those who held babies, thank you to those who constructed cribs, and of course, thank you for the homemade ice cream! There are so many things that you have helped us with, and it does not go unnoticed, so thank you all once again. With all of these physical blessings, it can be easy to overlook the other ways in which we are blessed. The apostle Paul tells us that God has blessed us “with every spiritual blessing” (Ephesians 1:3). You and I share this in Christ. So while we are thankful for all that you have done for us, we are most excited for the hearts, souls, and talents that awaited us here in Jacksboro. We are excited to see how God will move and act in the people of this congregation and in this community. We are ready to see how God will use each person here to write the next chapter of the church in Jacksboro. We are thankful to be here with you on this journey, and we echo the words of Paul, “We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers.” (I Thessalonians 1:2).
